JALISCO, Mexico (CelebrityAccess) An aspiring 27-year-old Mexican rapper/singer named QBA, who was recently dubbed a “Tupac in reverse” because his sensitive public persona didn’t reflect his hardcore personal life, has confessed to disposing of three film students in vats of acid.
Christian “QBA” Palma Gutierrez appears in 67 videos on YouTube and sings about the grief of having to live in the tough streets of Mexico. The Daily Beast noted that some of his lyrics translate to, “Here in the neighborhood, daily shots are heard / They are different things that happen to us, but mothers cry at home.”
Yet, Gutierrez was recruited by the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG), a wing of El Chapo’s Sinaloa cartel, which has risen in prominence while El Chapo awaits trial in New York. Gutierrez signed on with the CJNG three months before the ghastly incident at a weekly pay of 3,000 pesos (US$159).
“He has participated in three other previous murders,” a senior investigator said, according to Agence France-Press.
The three students from La Universidad de Medios Audiovisuale in Guadalajara were in the city of Jalisco to work on a film project, staying at a house that belonged to one of their aunt’s, according to the Daily Beast. Unfortunately, the students were not aware that the house used to be a hangout for a rival gang of CJNG.
Hitmen eventually kidnapped the three students and tortured one of them to death; the other two were killed because they were witnesses. The hitmen said the disposal of the bodies was left up to Gutierrez.
“Anybody who now watched a QBA video had cause to feel the rapper was all the more a monster for having not seemed to be one,” Michael Daly of the Daily Beast said.
Gutierrez and two others will be charged with aggravated kidnapping; five other suspects have yet to be apprehended, according to the AFP.
QBA’s YouTube channel has about 127,000 subscribers.
